The Seventeenth

The world went dark on the Thirteenth. Society went dark on the Seventeenth.

When the power went out on the evening of the thirteenth, everyone believed it was temporary.

“It’ll come back on in a few hours.”

“By morning, everything will be back to normal.”

Nothing to worry about.

But morning came…

And nothing changed.

By the morning of the seventeenth, the lights still hadn’t returned.

Cell phones wouldn’t turn on.

Cars wouldn’t start.

The television stayed silent.

The radio never came back.

For the first time, people began to realize the unthinkable.

Help wasn’t coming.

And perhaps no one was left to save them.

As communications fail and supply chains collapse, neighbors begin to fear one another… yet some still choose to help.

One man discovers that surviving this disaster was the easy part.

The real challenge was holding on to the convictions and principles that made civilization worth saving in the first place.

Every decision has a price.

Every victory demands a sacrifice.

And sometimes doing what is necessary leaves scars that no one else can see…

…scars that can take a lifetime to heal.

History may forget the thirteenth as the day the lights went out.

But it will always remember…
